fish-belt-buckleMarcus Hunt, costumed actor, TV host, and inventor, talks to the Nerds about his latest venture. He is launching The World’s First “Fish-Ready” Sportfishing Belt Buckle! Through a Kickstarter campaign, Marcus will bring to the planet a sleek, rugged and customizable belt and buckle combo. Fashionable and functional.  Not only does he know his belt buckles, but he also talked about his previous career as the Michelin Man. The show then features a segment from FN West when The Amazing James goes to a flyfishing show and gets the lowdown on this popular sport.  "Fish in the News" covers the world's first fish with braces (sort of) and the bloody details of the birth of a baby false killer whale. Thar she blows!

Dave and Clay welcome to the show FN West! A fishy duo comprised of FN correspondents The Amazing James and Fish Guy Josh. These two brothers from different mothers hale from the Oakland/ San Francisco area and excel at finding the fishiest, nerdiest stuff west of the continental divide.  In addition to catching up with the Nerds and accepting the a FN challenge, they submitted an outstanding report from Hawaii's famous Honolulu Fish Auction. The Nerds caught up with Kristen Berube who just wrote a book called "Confessions of a Camo Queen: Living with an Outdoorsman".  She has a great time talking about her crazy life as an outdoorswoman with a husband, three children, six dogs and a pig in Missoula, Montana. A denturist by trade and a graduate of Montana State University and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, she get's in the spirit of the podcast by telling funny stories and doing a spot-on impersonation of English royalty.  This show also includes one of our best "Fish in the News" segments and a report on the Sunapee trout by fellow Fish Nerd Doc Martin.

Fishing Podcast Episode #104 -Dave and Clay get fancy and go to Boston's Symphony Hall to interview international singing star and expert Louisiana fisherman Paul Groves.  The interview was set up by Sam, the Hall's senior publicist and our new best friend in Boston. We hauled all our recording gear to Paul's fancy dressing room and learned about his journey from a kid putting around Louisiana in a jon boat to a guy jetting around the globe singing in the best opera houses! Of course we gave Paul one of our famous Fish Nerd quizzes that tested his knowledge of fish and musical instruments (he knew more fish). We can't thank Paul and Sam enough for making this one of a kind show possible.
