Todd Corayer Book Review  https://fishwrapwriter.com/2023/08/17/the-meditative-fisherman/

Hydrilla Invades Maine by Todd Corayer

https://fishwrapwriter.com/2023/10/04/hydrilla-invades-indian-lake/

Todd points out that hydrilla is a very tough highly adaptable invasive, it survives just find in a dirty fish tank with poor lighting.  It only gets into waters by aquarium dumpers.  It gets spread by boats if they do not follow good sanitation and Todd covers all that and more in his excellent article.
